A Turn For the Blah

Well, the weather in New York City has taken a turn for the blah, and now that I'm settled into the Population Council, I'm discovering (or, more precisely, remembering) the downsides of having a 9 to 5 job.

With the rains of the last few days, and those predicted for the next couple, I can't imagine that there are going to be many leaves left on the trees after this weekend, so my shot at photographing the change of seasons in Central Park is pretty much gone. Were I not going to the office every day, this wouldn't be a problem, as I used to just go to the park on a whim and go hog wild with the camera. But now those trips need to be planned, and there doesn't ever seem to be enough time!

Who knew that a guy who mostly just worked 9-to-5 could feel so busy?!? I remember the feeling, though. Coming home from work and crashing because the day was draining (notice how I don't say "tiring" or "exhausting..." people who work in offices just don't have the right to complain like they dig ditches for a living, no matter how strenuous their jobs), and it's just so hard to *motivate* oneself, especially when one (I'm not mentioning any names here, but his initials are Joe Schulz) takes a couple of nights a week to hang out with friends and that sorta thing.

So I'm griping over not having enough time to do the fun stuff I used to do... I'm different from a billion other people, how?
