Straight Nerds: Surprisingly Cute
I'm avoiding spending the evening at home for good reasons, this time. Sitting at home bores me, so I decided to take in a movie on my own. I'm not alone in that desire. There are a lot of singles here. Which, actually, makes sense, since I'm seeing T3: Rise of the Machines, and there's a preponderance of straight white nerds here. Some of them are pretty darn cute.
I'm afraid I have more in common with the straight nerds than I do with most of my gay brothers. Alas, that's actually okay with me, for the most part.
For the most part.
The small group of guys that's sitting next to me are talking about their friends who're bounty hunters, going hunting with M-16's. What an amazing freakin' world we live in, huh?
They've just been joined by their big beefy friend who's wearing a tee-shirt that reads, "Significantly Bigger Than You." That just cracks my shit up. It's true, though... he's tall, and he's got muscles on his muscles.
This large group of black folks just came in... three adults and two kids. I have this prescient feeling that they're going to ruin this movie for me - disruptive kids and adults talking back to the movie. They already asked the cute guy who was sitting a couple seets down from me to move down and make room for them, and rather than sit next to me, he moved to a different part of the theater. I wish I had followed him.
Okay, so they didn't ruin the movie for me, but they sure didn't enhance it. If I'd heard "oh, no she di'n't" one more time, I would have said something. But then I'm a pansy. One of the many things I love about myself. The mother talked back to the movie the whole way through - from beginning to end.
Why must people be so predictable?
