Well, true to predictions, yesterday was just a lousy day, weather-wise. I took advantage of that fact by spending much of it in bed, asleep! I'd slept so poorly all week that I decided I just wanted to sack out with videos and TV, despite the fact that there were tons of chores that needed doing.
So I didn't leave my bedroom much yesterday, between catching up with e-mails, and TV, and doing a little (and I do mean little) bit of cleaning.
Hence, today was a perfect chance to get out again and enjoy the weather, which, also true to predictions, was every bit as lovely as yesterday was lame.
Eric and I went back to the Botanic Gardens to check out the cherry blossoms, which were in full bloom all over the Cherry Esplanade. Since Carin was entertaining her folks, Eric invited along his new "friend" Shane (oh, to be twenty-four again!), of whom I snapped exactly two pictures while we were out. How's this for weird? For the first time ever, pictures on my camera were corrupted and unreadable when I downloaded them. Guess which two pictures? Yeah. So, although Shane was a really cute guy, you don't get any pictures of him.Instead, you get more pictures of Eric!
I don't know why, but Eric's just so much fun to take pictures of - probably because he enjoys being photographed. It's not often that you find someone with such joie de vivre, which is probably why I enjoy Eric so much. He's just irrepressible in the way of people who've seen up close that life's not always kind, but have decided that the way to deal with that is to wrest from it what joy there is to be had.
I think that's why I enjoy him so much. I've told him on more than one occasion that if he were fifteen years older, I'd be on him like white on rice!
So, here are some of my favorite shots from today... not, certainly, the 100+ shots I took the last time (although we spent a quarter of the time there, and I took something like 40 shots). As you can tell from some of the closeups, I remembered my wide angle and zoom lenses:
